The Pocatello Downtown Development Plan - A Vision for the 21st Century
The Pocatello Downtown Development Plan provides the City and the community, an ambitious vision for the future of Downtown Pocatello. It provides a foundational framework for downtown success, goals, and strategies to implement the vision. This plan should be utilized as a playbook by the City of Pocatello, Historic Downtown Pocatello, Inc., business and property owners, investors, developers, and various community organizations in determining priorities and strategies to accomplish the goals of the vision within Downtown and the surrounding areas.

This Website - we update this website weekly. This is a comprehensive, yet user friendly, way to keep up with what we are doing.

The SBDC is located on the Idaho State University Campus and provides consulting and low cost training to area businesses. Their services include business plan writing, assistance in financial statement development and assistance in finding funding. SICOG administers a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). The objective of the RLF is to create and retain jobs, to secure capital formation and to help business and industry in activities that promote economic health. These funds are available in conjunction with bank financing to for-profit small businesses in the seven counties serviced by SICOG—Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power Counties.

Eastern Idaho Development Corporation is a Certified Development Company (CDC), making Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 Loans available in our area. This program is a powerful economic development loan program that offers small businesses another avenue for business financing, while promoting business growth, and job creation. The 504 Loan Program provides approved small businesses with long-term, fixed-rate financing used to acquire fixed assets for expansion or modernization.
The use of proceeds from 504 Loans must be used for fixed assets (and certain soft costs), including:
· The purchase of existing buildings;
· The purchase of land and land improvements, including grading, street improvements, utilities, parking lots and landscaping;
· The construction of new facilities or modernizing, renovating or converting existing facilities;
· The purchase of long-term machinery; or
· The refinancing of debt in connection with an expansion of the business through new or renovated facilities or equipment.

They specialize in providing financing to business owners and entrepreneurs who have been turned down by banks and credit unions. And MoFi provides free business consulting services to support its loan clients.
The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program provides business, developers, and non-profits with capital at very favorable terms to help spur investment in economically distressed areas. MoFi works with investors to turn the credits into cash, and then uses that cash to fund catalytic development projects that create jobs and expand community services for low-income people and places.

The Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program is a joint partnership between the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the National Park Service (NPS), and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). SHPO is the liaison between the property owner and NPS, providing information and assistance throughout the application process. To be eligible for the 20-percent federal tax credit, the subject property must be both listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and the use must be income producing. Owner occupied residential properties are not eligible for the program.
